Scientists say that the device is extremely accurate and allows you to control the ratio of different photons. So, for example, a beam of light can be 80% photons at 510 nm and 20% at 500 nm, making it green. The team argues that the powerful new tool could have a range of photonic applications, including communications, quantum computing and artificial intelligence, and could be useful in making smaller devices.
